How Often Do You Have Sex?

How often do you have sex?Everyone wants to know how often other people have sex.

It’s natural to be curious about your neighbors (unless of course the walls are too thin and you know as in the case of my former neighbor), your friends, celebrities, and of course local and national politicians. Recently, Adam & Eve, which is a store specializing in “adult products” (aka sex toys galore) surveyed 1,000 Americans about their sexual habits.

Because the survey was conducted by a sex toy company, and not by trained researchers, the results may be somewhat skewed, so in the words of Douglas Adams, “Don't panic” if you fall at the bottom end of the sexual scale.

So, how often are Americans having sex? Or at least, how often were the respondents to this particular survey having sex?

-37.5% of Americans are having sex one to two times per week.
-26.2% are having sex 1-3 times per month
-22.1% are having sex 2-3 times per week.

Very few of the respondents admitted to having sex “seldom” or “never” leading me to believe that perhaps the respondents were actually customers of the store, were exaggerating, or at the very least were just extremely lucky.

Who is having all of this sex? Can you guess? Perhaps you, maybe your friends?

The conservatives would like to claim that married people are having more enjoyable sex more frequently  than the depraved and sexually deprived singles around, but according to this article I came across in Psychology Today, this is a fallacy.

Instead, couples who are living together are having more sex than their married counterparts. The author also disputes that the “smug marrieds” (as Bridget Jones would say), are having the most satisfying sex and again claims that it is more likely a tie between married couples and co-habitating couples.

The statistics from this article are somewhat debatable as the writer has written at least one book on relationships and sex for single people, but this article is  definitely worth a look  see if you are curious about who is having sex.
