The Huffington Post posted a rather generous offer this morning- 100 grand for a sex-tape of Glenn Beck with the hopes of getting the illustrious (NOT) and highly-conceited Mr. Beck out of the spotlight once and for all. Unfortunately, the offer was rescinded. No Glenn Beck pouty sex face to look forward to, afterall.
I'm happy that the post was removed for a couple of reasons- as much as I want to see Glenn Beck go down in flames, I don't think I could stomach the site of him having sex- with anyone. The grainiess of any possible sex tape video footage would do little to help my severe emotional trauma and deep pain at the very idea that anyone would be willing to have sex with such a bastard in the first place. I don't need living proof that the man can pro-create- PLEASE, no. I also don't think the proposed sex tape would have had the intended effect of removing Mr. Beck from the public eye. In fact, from my limited understanding of sex tapes, they usually have opposite effect- even more people get to see them.
The blogger in question, Friedlender, had the ability to post to the site himself, but has since lost the right to do so after a presumably close and careful scrutiny by the Huffington Post.
Friedlander himself was not willing to offer up the reward for the sex tape, but promised instead to be an active participant in raising money to pay for the sex tape. The Huffington Post was never on board with the story either- I am thinking that Arianna wasn't willing either to fork over the big bucks needed to pay to see a man of the tremendous stature of Glenn Beck performing sex acts. Why pay so much money to be physically ill when there are so many other healthier alternatives available?
I haven't heard yet what Glenn Beck's response was- knowing the man and the size of his, ahem, ego, I would not be surprised if he tried to contact the blogger himself to "make a deal." I don't want to see one of his flow-charts on the action, though. Maybe it's best not to speculate on what he would do since the offer seems to have been rescinded any way. I'll keep you posted either way.
